Behind the Song All Things Right
Life is a wild ride, isn’t it? There are moments when we’re on cloud nine, and then there are those times when it feels like we’re stuck in the valley, surrounded by darkness and despair. But even in our lowest moments, there’s hope to be found in God, Our Great Restorer.
You know, it’s important to be real with God. We don’t have to sugarcoat our feelings or pretend like everything is fine when it’s not.
“I’m not afraid to tell you how I feel.”
In fact, the Bible encourages us to pour out our hearts to God. In Psalm 62:8, it says, “O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” So go ahead, lay it all out before Him.
There are moments when it feels like we’ve lost so much. Maybe it’s a relationship that fell apart, a dream that didn’t come true, or a loved one who’s no longer with us. It hurts… But even in our pain, we can hold onto the promises of God. In Joel 2:25, God says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts… You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you.”
Trust me when I tell you, God is faithful. That’s a truth we can cling to no matter what. In Lamentations 3:22-23, it says, “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Every single morning, His faithfulness is renewed.
You see, there’s nothing too broken for God to fix. He specializes in restoration. Isaiah 61:3 tells us that God will give us “beauty for ashes,” “blessing instead of mourning,” & “praise instead of despair.” “…they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.” He takes our mess and turns it into something beautiful.
And guess what? He sees you. He hears you. He knows what you’re going through. In Psalm 56:8, it says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” You’re not forgotten; you’re cherished.
So, when life knocks you down and it feels like there’s no way out, remember this: God is the Great Restorer. He can bring it all back—every broken piece, every lost dream, every tear. He’s got you, friend. Just hold on to Him, press into Him and watch as He works wonders in your life.
